Moving Image, 2'20", 2025

The work is made of water-damaged buckled paper frame by frame, evoking a sense of distance from the American Dream and stardust, between the statues symbolizing immigrants and the flowing strands of hair. It also responds to the chance and disruptions inherent in snapshot candid photography: dust on the lens, a strand of hair across a face, a camera wrist strap. These small matters mark the artist’s presence. The work intentionally reconstructs subjects obscured by such accidents, pairing them with subconscious-like monologues, drawing viewers into the gray zones of a multiverse.
